Welcome
Welcome to my 'Ludicrously Tasty' fotopic site.

I use a Canon EOS 400D, and get out with it when I can. Believe it or not, occasionally I even get to go further afield than Washwood Heath!

Thanks to the guys at Freightmaster Online, GoingLoco.org, and elsewhere (you know who you are) for the gen. Thanks to someone else (you know who you are too) for the spam - makes excellent reading when I'm bored ;) Thanks also go to Kellogg's for a tasty breakfast treat :)

Where a 'TS' number is provided, see the Trainspots website at http://www.trainspots.co.uk/

If you wish to contact me or use hi-res versions of any of the pictures on this site, please email me at thecrunchynutter@googlemail.com

April 2008 (19 images)
3rd April: Took a trip down to Folkestone Harbour to get a few photos of the penultimate VSOE on the soon to be closed branch. Dropped in at Dover on the way to have a look at a view of Shakespeare Tunnel. TS 888.

6th April: Snow! In April! An opportunity not to be missed - popped to Gravelly Hill for a couple of shots of 323 EMUs in the snow before it melted.

12th April: 'The East Anglian' railtour, hauled by 40145. A hellfire day was had - a couple of photos were taken too.

13th April: A couple of photos of 90018 and stock at Euston.

14-15th April: I spent a couple of days in Essex - here is a selection of shots from the Marks Tey and Brentwood areas.

19th April: 'The Wey-farer' railtour, hauled throughout by a pair of DRS class 20s, with Purple Ronnie on the back for ETS.

24th April: A trip to Doncaster for the Freightmaster Interactive meet. Cheers for a fun day out lads! TS440

Germany, Holland and Switzerland - September 2008 (34 images)
15th - 19th September: My first visit abroad, taking in Holland, Germany, and an evening in Zurich (Switzerland). Stuff Britain's smelly trains - I'm hooked!

June 2008 (77 images)
1st June: Not a sunny start to the month like May, but never mind - shots of a pair of 37s on ECS, and 57s on Pendo drags at Washwood Heath.

2nd June: Another trip to Washwood Heath for those Fastline coal trains - now there are two diagrams in operation, so double the fun!

4th June: An early to morning trip to Washwood Heath to catch the loaded Daw Mill-Ratcliffe Fastline coal.

6th June: A trip after work to... guess where? Yep Washwood Heath! I'm going to go somewhere else this month - I promise!

11th June: At some ungodly hour, before I was due to start work, The Northern Belle was due to run up the Cross City line in Birmingham heading towards Derby. Decided to make an effort for this rare loco-haulage! After work went to you-know-where for you-know-what...

12th June: I went to Tamworth today - I know it's a hole, but at least it makes a change to WWH! A variety of shots were had, including 56311 on 4O90, 37s on a test train, the NMT HST, and that coal!

13th June: It started so well - went with Lucky Matt to WWH for you-know-what, then Lea Marston for 6M11 - photted the NMT HST, and a couple of freight, then found 6M11 had gone via Whitacre. Arse. Never mind though, 4Z87 was heading our way en route to Long Marston with a pair of GB 66s at the sharp end... We spied a shot in a field, and off we trotted - and then we met the KKK - the Kingsbury Killer... erm... Kows! Won't say how we got away - suffice to say it was totally legal and legit, honest Guv! After that, a breif visit to Elford, followed by a trip to Penkridge. Must eat more beef in future...

14th June: Took a trip to York for the naming of 60040. No cows anywhere in sight, luckily!

21st June: A trip from Crewe to Paignton, on board Spitfire Railtours' 'The Paignton Pudden', hauled by 37606 and 37423. Hellfire!

24th June: Went to Kidderminster to phot 50049 hauling a pair of 'Slugs' retunring from Merehead to the Severn Valley Railway.

25th June: Upon hearing 37401 was en route to Washwood Heath Cemex, I thought it would be rude not to drag myself out of bed and try and get there first. Made it, and saw the inbound light engine working. Afterwards I met up with the Freightmaster bunch at Stafford for an overnight session.

26th June: Moved on to Water Orton with the FM crew, where the highlight of the day was surely 40145 towing a pair of 37/9 slugs from Kidderminster to Bury, via Butterley. Cheers for a great couple of days lads :)

28th June: To finish off the month, paid a visit to London Midland's open day at Tyseley depot, held to celebrate the depot's centenary.

May 2008 (73 images)
2nd May: A cracking day, with full sun almost all day. Went out for some shots of the newly reliveried EMT HST, out for the first time. Got some bonus photos of 56311 out on the mainline, 37s on Serco trips, and 66726 on a FL wagon move! Locations at Derby, Breaston and Loughborough.

3rd May: After a 5h 20m 'shop ordeal', I made it to Berwick-upon-Tweed in time to phot D1015 Western Champion crossing the Royal Border Bridge with a charter to Edinburgh. Then travelled to carlisle via Newcastle to phot the return.

4th May: Who would have thought it? A confirmed diesel fan such as myself, trekking all the way to Dawlish for... a KETTLE! 71000 Duke of Gloucester photographed at Dalwlish and Cockwood Harbour, among other things.

6th May: As 4O90 is now booked to run via Nottingham and Sheet Stores Jn, rather than via Derby, decided to take a trip out to photograph it on the new route.

14th May: decided to stay local today - went to Washwood Heath for a couple of hours this evening - highlight was 66719 on 4G81, the Fastline coal empties from Ratcliffe to Daw Mill.

17th May: As the Pathfinder 33 tour to Weymouth was caped, decided to pop to the Severn Valley Railway for a bash behind 50049 on the diesel diagram a a consolation prize. A few phots included from an enjoyable day. Not bad for a vac ;)

19th May: Washwood Heath again for the Fastline coal.

20th May: After that coal again - who would have thought I'd spend so much time chasing a 66 on coal hoppers?! Tried a few shots in the Whitacre Jn and Shustoke areas.

21st May: Another day, another shot of that coal - Water Orton this time.

22nd May: Fastline coal was running late today - so chanced a trip to Tamworth after work. Unfortunatley missed the coal by under a minute, but did manage a shot of 56301 on 4O90, so all was not lost!

23rd May: With Lichfield Trent Valley No. 1 signalbox due to be decommissioned this coming weekend, I decided to visit Lichfield for some last photos featuring the 'box. RIP :(

24th May: Never been out so many days in a row before! Today went out early for a pair of railtours at Washwood Heath, one of which was hauled by one of those filthy old tea brewing devices...
Afterwards I made up for my temporary insanity by visiting the Severn Valley Railway, where haulage was had behind not one, but TWO 37/9 'slugs'.

25th May: Just the one from today, an interior shot at St Pancras.
